ROCKY MOUNT STUDENT RECEIVES CONGRESSIONAL ACADEMY NOMINATION
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Walter B. Jones (R-NC) announced his nomination of Faith Christian School student Mark Phillip Muller to the United States Naval Academy and the United States Air Force Academy. Michael is the son of Peter and Deborah Muller.
The U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy are two of five service academies established by the federal government for the purpose of training officers of the Armed Forces. Selection to academies can be extremely competitive as each academy pays for appointees’ tuition, fees and boarding and provides a monthly stipend.
Every applicant, except those to the Coast Guard Academy, must receive a congressional nomination and apply directly to the academy. Those receiving nominations and appointments to the U.S. service academies must exhibit strength in character, scholarship, leadership, physical aptitude, medical fitness, goals, and motivation.
