JONES TO CO-CHAIR COASTAL CAUCUS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Third District Congressman Walter B. Jones (R-NC) has been named Co-Chairman of the Congressional Coastal Caucus for the 110th Congress, along with Reps. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Henry Brown (R-SC) and Lois Capps (D-CA). The bipartisan Coastal Caucus keeps members and staff informed about a wide range of coastal issues such as shore protection, beach replenishment, coastal conservation, non-point source pollution, watershed management and marine environmental protection.

“As the Representative for the 3rd Congressional District – home of the Outer Banks and hundreds of miles of coastline – I am grateful for the opportunity to co-chair a caucus devoted to improving the quality of our coastal environment, and enhancing the interests of those who live, work and do business in America’s coastal communities,” Congressman Jones said.

“In the 110th Congress, the Coastal Caucus will continue to support responsible management of our rich coastal resources and seek to ensure that our nation’s coastal beauty can continue to be enjoyed by both present and future generations,” Jones said.

The Congressional Coastal Caucus was first established in 1996, and included nearly 100 members in the 109th Congress.
