4 Disaster Recovery Centers to Open for One Day Each

Quincy, MA -- To further help individuals and businesses affected by recent storms and flooding, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will open Disaster Recovery Centers at four locations for one day each, beginning Wednesday, May 2.

Homeowners, renters and businesses in Bristol, Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk, and Worcester counties who suffered uninsured losses because of the severe storms and flooding between March 5 and April 16 may be eligible for assistance under President Bush's disaster declaration.
Federal and state disaster workers will provide additional program information and answer questions for people who already have applied for assistance by calling the toll-free registration number - 1-800-462-9029. The TTY number for speech and hearing-impaired applicants is 1-800-462-7585.
Representatives of state, federal and voluntary agencies will be available, including loan officers from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Please note: financial assistance is not directly provided from these centers.
Applicants with questions do not have to go to a Disaster Recovery Center. They can call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-525-0321 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.
