The Caribbean Broadcast Media Partnership on HIV/AIDS (CBMP) is expanding its operations and as a results, the post for a Creative Director currently exists.

News from the CBMP
  • BOLD NEW PROGRAMMING FOR WORLD AIDS DAY (WAD) – All CBMP members have received their WAD Programming Package which is filled with bold new programmes for both our radio and television members. Programme packages were distributed on November 26th, so if you have not received your package please contact Michele Yearwood at the CBMP Headquarter.
  • CBMP & UWI LIVE UP! – CBMP television members received a one of a kind special for their World AIDS Day LIVE UP: The Show (LUTS) programme which is also the launch of the second series of LUTS for television. The CBMP partnered with the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and in collaboration with the UWI HIV/AIDS Response Programme (UWI HARP), moved LUTS out of the studio onto the campus for a special WAD episode featuring a live UWI student audience. This interactive session also features LIVE UP Hero, Corey Lane, providing a wealth of information on HIV/AIDS and hosting an interactive quiz with the enthusiastic students.
  • THE HEROES CAMPAIGN TAKES A ROAD TRIP! – The CBMP has taken its Heroes Campaign on a Roadshow in Jamaica and Barbados. The CBMP broadcast members in these territories got the opportunity to meet the LIVE UP Heroes of their island and to discuss the many ways that members can embrace and expand the Heroes Campaign. Members in St. Lucia, the Bahamas and Trinidad can look out for the Heroes Roadshow coming their way early in 2009. Remember to nominate a LIVE UP Hero at www.iliveup.com and the Heroes Roadshow may be coming your way next!
  • LIVE UP JAM SESSION GOES PLATINUM - The CBMP 'Jam Session - Kitchen Riddems' PSA has won the 2008 Creativity Annual Platinum Award. Congratulations to the LIVE UP Creative Team for a job well done!
  • LIVE UP TAKES TO THE STREETS – The students of the Lawrence T. Gay Memorial School in Barbados walked off with first place for the HIV/AIDS Awareness Prize at the country's annual Crop Over celebrations. The creative team highlighted the CBMP's LIVE UP Jingle in their script as "Professor Awareness" crossed the judging stage dispensing messages to eager students.
  • LAUNCHING LIVE UP HEROES CAMPAIGN – This September, the CBMP is proud to unveil their most recent campaign, Live Up Heroes, profiling 7 heroes and their accomplishments fighting HIV and AIDS in the Caribbean. All CBMP broadcast members have received a programming package containing the new television ads, online ads, a poster, and brochure. The packet also offers helpful suggestions on how broadcasters can make the Live Up Heroes Campaign their own.
  • SECOND ANNUAL EXECUTIVE MEETING – August 26, the CBMP's Steering Committee and General Assembly convened in Havana, Cuba in conjunction with the CBu's Annual General Assembly.
  • THE CBMP AND SCOTIABANK, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH, have announced a new regional HIV testing pilot program that will culminate with on-site HIV testing at local branches of Scotiabank on June 27, 2008.  The following territories are participating in the initiative: Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Maarten, and Jamaica.
  • FIVE NEW MEMBERS FOR THE CBMP - In the month of April, the CBMP continued its expansion by welcoming five new members from Haiti, Turks and Caicos, Montserrat, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands (BVI), and St. Lucia.
  • HIV/AIDS Across Generations - Episode three of LIVE UP:The Show examines the impact and effects of HIV/AIDS across generations. This episode will feature segments from the Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN), and ZIZ in St. Kitts. The How I LIVE UP segment will feature Corey Layne from the Youth arm of the Barbados National HIV/AIDS Commission.
  • 14 NEW MEMEBERS FOR THE CBMP - The CBMP with the help of CECOSIDA, has welcomed 14 new broadcasters to the LIVE UP Campaign. CECOSIDA has also translated CBMP materials for the corporate site to welcome these new members.
  • LOOK OUT FOR EPISODE TWO OF LIVE UP: THE SHOW in April. Kreative Communications Network (KCN), St. Maarten Cable TV and Grenada Cable Vision (GCV) contribute segments to the latest LIVE UP Programme.
