CHAIRMAN DIAZ: Good afternoon Madame Secretary. I understand we are gathered together for a special type of short meeting? MS. VIETTI-COOK: The Commission is being asked to act on a Memorandum and Order responding to a challenge to the license termination plan of Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company by the Citizens Awareness Network. Citizens Awareness Network asked the Commission to consider whether its dose standard in 10 CFR ยง 20.1402 ensures that decommissioning activities at Haddam Neck are "not inimical" to the health and safety of children. Citizens Awareness Network also asked the Commission to direct the Licensing Board to accept Citizens Awareness Network's late-filed Amended Contention 6.1. The Commission has voted to approve a Memorandum and Order which denies CAN's petition and directs the Licensing Board to reject CAN's Amended Contention 6.1. Would you please affirm your votes? CHAIRMAN DIAZ: Aye. COMMISSIONER MCGAFFIGAN: Aye. COMMISSIONER MERRIFIELD: Aye. MS. VIETTI-COOK: That's all I have. CHAIRMAN DIAZ: Thank you so very much. We're adjourned.
