Republicans call on Pelosi to Streamline DHS Oversight
(November 20, 2008) - Today, U.S. Rep. Peter T. King (NY), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security released a letter he and fellow Committee Ranking Members sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, calling on Democrats to consolidate jurisdiction of the Department of Homeland Security. Currently, DHS must answer to over 100 committees and subcommittees, a number which jumped from 86 only one year ago. King calls lack of Authorization bill 'absolute failure'
