If is safe, there is no harm in labeling it and giving the consumer a choice. The press this weekend announced that there are major draw backs associated with cloning, that is, significant complications arise in the physiology of the animals cloned when their genetic structure is altered. This is because no human being can ever accurately predict the impact within the animal's system or its ability to respond to its environment when its genes are altered. The interactions of one gene range in the hundreds of thousands within one physiology. Just because a plant has less obvious signs of complications does not mean that the effects of the alteration are not significant on the plant, the environment and the eater of the plant. Please -- there are plenty of Americans that will never read the labels and will eat the science you support. Your companies will make the profits they desire at all our expense. Let the small percentage of Americans that do care what goes in their bodies exercise their right to know. For the sake of all our children, grandchildren and their heirs - please do not act politically, or for special interest, act to given your fiduciary. When there is a possibility of danger, err to the conservative. Thank you for your consideration. Alan Marks
