Farm Sanctuary also petitioned the FDA to prohibit the slaughter of downed animals. At that time I wrote you expressing my support for this legislation. As you are now accepting comments regarding this issue, let me repeat: prohibit the slaughter and sale of downed animals! Besides an unbelievably cruel practice, it presents a human health hazard. The health of the real live citizens the FDA represents is more important than the economic profits of the artificial entities that comprise the livestock industry. Sincerely, Richard Worth
