Americans deserve and need to exercise our right to know what is in our food. The FDA is not mandated to protect the interests of biotech or other corporations but rather has been instructed by Congress to protect the public. You must insure that both labeling and mandatory pre-market safety testing by independent labs and researchers are carefully and stringently enforced - I have a responsibility to choose for my children conservatively in regards to the risks they must face and involuntary inclusion in a mass medical experiment is NOT one of MY choices. We the People hired you to insure that our rights to know and choose are secured and protected by the force of our government. Even the Biotechnology Consultative Forum recommended mandatory labeling of GE foods. Nobody, at this time, knows the extent of the effects upon our selves, our agricultural crops, our world that are risked by genetic manipulation. The Lord my God created this world and directed the evolutionary changes throughout history. Now a few rich people who wish to become richer choose to determine the next course of evolution, putting the entire human family and environment at potentially great risk. I urge you to reconsider this proposal. Rev Dr. Alan H. Feldman Nacogdoches, Texas 75961
