From: walsh.137@osu.edu Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2001 2:17 PM To: FDADockets@oc.fda.gov Subject: NO RU-486 To Whom it may concern: I am a medical student at Ohio-State University and I am very concerned about the RU-486 "morning-after" pill. This pill does not prevent abortion -- it is abortion. Also, there can be very serious, even life-threatening consequences to the woman. We also do not know about the long-term psychological consequences women might have from being directly responsible for their child's death. However, we do know that these consequences in women who have sought an abortion can be severe. Might it be possible that if the women themselves take the pill -- in essence perform the abortion -- and then suffer for several days until the physiological effects are over would suffer more from physical AND psychological consequences. Please do not approve this drug to be over-the counter. Sincerely, Michele Walsh 14868 Middleburg-P.C. Rd. Plain City, OH 43064
