You need to make a decision on these products, based on meaningful studies, for the good of the health of all Americans. I am interested in your decision, as lawmakers here on Oahu are considering fluoridating our water supply. I am hoping fluoridation is not approved by them at this time. I am unconvinced that the alleged benefits to children's teeth are worth the risk that ingested fluoride may pose to older folks, people with diabetes and reduced kidney function (my mother-in-law), and others. As a woman in my mid-forties, I am particularly interested in the effects of fluoride on my bones...any additional risk to me and others should mean that it is unethical to fluoridate our water since the legislature would be discriminating against us to benefit (maybe) another group. However, it is my understanding that scientifically sound studies on which to base sound decisions are lacking. Your study and decision on fluoride supplements would have a direct impact on the water fluoridation decision being considered by our legislators. Thank you for considering my request!
