Dear Sirs,
I am writing because I am extrememly concerned about the risks posed by genetically engineered foods. I believe that the proposed rules favor the interests of corporate agriculture and the biotechnology industry over the publics right to know about and choose products with acceptable ingredients.
Let me be clear: I am not opposed to biotechnology and all of its applications, but I do concur with many scientists and an international coalition of governments that call for precautionary testing and strict regulation of genetically engineered products to prevent harm to human health and the environment.
I am concerned about a safe supply of food for my family, and I would demand that the FDA requires more testing of and more information about genetically engineered products.
