ALMANOR (CA), LASSEN NF - FS, CADescription:Almanor South Campground will be open from May 15th to September 6th, 2004. Located 12 miles outside the town of Chester, CA on the west shore of Lake Almanor. Elevation - 4525 feet Mixed coniferous forest. Average temperature May-Aug. 45-90 degrees Sept.-Oct. 25-75 degrees Vault toilets, flush toilet at boat ramp, limited parking. Hiking, biking, stream and lake fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming. Boat launch, beach, and amphitheatre facilities. For campsite information call (530) 258-2141. Alerts and Important InformationNo full service sites are available at Almanor Campground. * Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends. This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends. Reservations are taken from 5/28/04 through 9/5/04; sites may be available during that period on a walk-in basis. A fee of $3.00 per night for extra vehicles will be collected at the campground. No ATV's or ORV's may be operated in the campground. Additional first come - first served sites are available at this campground during the season. Pets must be leashed. Holder of Golden Age/Access card must be present. Golden Age/Access discount applies only to cardholders site.Getting There:Almanor (CA)LASSEN Chester CA From the town of Chester, take Hwy 36 for 2 miles west to junction of Hwy 36 and Hwy 89. Go 4 miles and turn left directly across from the Rest Area. Go 1 mile and turn right into the Almanor South Campground. |
