Congresswoman Tsongas Opens New Congressional District Office in Acton

WASHINGTON, DC – April 21, 2008 – Congresswoman Niki Tsongas today officially opened a new Congressional district office in Acton which will primarily serve Fifth District residents in the towns of Acton, Boxborough, Concord, Carlisle, Sudbury, Maynard, Wayland, Stow, Hudson, Berlin, Bolton, Littleton, Lancaster, Harvard, Shirley, and Ayer.

"My most important duty is to remain easily accessible to the Fifth District residents that I have the privilege of representing, and that is why I am so pleased to open my new district office in Acton this afternoon," said Congresswoman Niki Tsongas. "This office will provide greater convenience for residents in the southern portions of the Fifth District who may need assistance in dealing with a federal agency, or who wish to offer their thoughts regarding federal legislation and local community happenings."

"I want to make it as easy as possible for people to share their opinions and ideas with me, or to talk about their needs," Tsongas continued.  "With the opening of this new congressional office, residents of Acton and the surrounding communities can visit my staff in person if they need assistance with securing veterans' benefits, receiving social security checks, applying for college aid, or with any other federal government service.  I also want to encourage residents to use my Acton office in order to let me know their opinion on bills Congress may be considering, offer suggestions for community projects, or just to share their thoughts with me," Tsongas concluded.

Tsongas' Acton office is located at 492 Main Street and will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. starting April 29th.  Tsongas currently has district offices in Lowell and Lawrence, and holds regular office hours in Haverhill.
