Biography
Joe Donnelly is the congressman from Indiana’s 2nd District. As a
member of the Blue Dog Coalition, he is a Democrat committed to a moderate
agenda that includes fiscal discipline and strong national security. He
is also on three committees that meet the diverse needs of Indiana’s
2nd District: Financial Services, Agriculture and Veterans’ Affairs.
Joe was born on September 29th, 1955. He graduated from the University
of Notre Dame with a B.A. in Government in 1977. Joe also graduated from
the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1981.
Joe was a member of the law firm of Nemeth, Feeny and Masters in South
Bend where he conducted a general practice. Joe also operated a small business,
which was located in Mishawaka, Indiana.
In addition to his careers in law and small business, Joe has maintained
an active presence in public service. From 1988 to1989, he worked with
both parties to ensure fair and accurate election results by serving on
the Indiana State Election Board. Joe was also a member of the School Board
for Mishawaka Marian High School from 1997 to 2001, serving as President
during the 2000 – 2001 term.
Joe lives in Granger with his wife Jill. They have been married since 1979. Together they have two children, Molly and Joseph Jr. They are members
of St. Anthony de Padua Parish, where Joe served as chairman of the Bishop’s
Appeal Campaign from 1994 to1996. |
