Kaibab Forest Plan Revision

The document below is a complete electronic version of the Kaibab National Forest Plan (dated 1987), including all amendments through June 2005. This is the current Forest Plan.

This version was recreated from a paper copy; however, every effort was made to exactly reproduce the original Plan, including graphics, pagination, page formatting, and maps.

Regional Strategy

In 2006, all six Arizona forests will launch a series of collaborative efforts to revise their forest plans. Our goal is to complete each plan revision in about 3 years for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

Revision Process

Much has changed since forest plans were developed under the 1982 Planning Rule, including our objectives for managing the land.

The Forest Service has recently revised its planning regulations; the new 2008 planning rule provides the framework for individual forest and grassland plan revisions. The intended effects of the new rule are available [here]
