Violence in movies may be on the rise, but one Congressman is working to make sure it's not an issue in the skies.
Indiana Congressman Joe Donnelly is working to pass the Family Friendly Flights Act.
The bill was recently introduced in the House and co-sponsored by Donnelly.
It would provide for a child safe viewing area where airlines cannot display violent in-flight movies.
Rep. Joe Donnelly (D-Indiana) says, "When your children are 8 and 6 and you've working all year long to have a vacation, you shouldn't have to worry about what you're going to see on the airplane you ought to know you can get on a plane and not worry about your values being challenged."
Donnelly says the focus will not be on individual screens on the backs of seats, but rather on the flip down screens that come down.
He wants airlines to leave screens up in the back of the plane, allowing for a family friendly section.
