NTSB LOOKS AT FATAL BUS ACCIDENT IN PENNSYLVANIA, AND THE USE OF MEDICATION WHEN OPERATING VEHICLES


The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a Board Meeting Wednesday, January 5, 2000, at 9:30 a.m., in the Board Room of its Headquarters building, 5th floor, 490 L'Enfant Plaza, S.W., Washington, D.C.  Two items will be discussed:

The Safety Board will look at the collision of a Greyhound Lines, Inc. motorcoach with two tractor semi-trailers, on the Pennsylvania Turnpike on June 20, 1998. The bus driver and six passengers were killed.

The Safety Board will look at the use of medication when operating vehicles and the lack of information regarding prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications in accidents in all modes of transportation.
