NTSB PLANNING PHOTO OP, BRIEFING ON THE CRASH OF EGYPTAIR FLIGHT 990

The National Transportation Safety Board is planning an opportunity for news photography of the EgyptAir 990 flight data recorder and a briefing on the progress of the investigation.

The photo opportunity is scheduled for 4 p.m. today.  NTSB personnel will display the recorder, but no statement will be issued and no questions taken at that time.

The news briefing by NTSB Chairman Jim Hall is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.  Chairman Hall will brief news media on the progress of  the investigation and recovery of wreckage.

Both events will be held in the 5th Floor Board Room at the NTSB headquarters in Washington, D.C.  Because of construction on L'Enfant Plaza in front of Loew's Hotel, news media representatives should use the entrance at 470 L'Enfant Plaza and take the elevator to the 5th Floor.
