NTSB BOARD MEETING LOOKS AT PUPIL TRANSPORTATION ON NONCONFORMING BUSES

The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a Board Meeting Tuesday, June 8, 1999 at 9:30 a.m., in the Board Room of its Headquarters building, 490 L'Enfant Plaza, S.W., Washington, D.C.

The Safety Board will look at four accidents involving nonconforming buses. These accidents, which initiated the Highway Special Investigation Report - Pupil Transportation on Nonconforming Buses, resulted in nine fatalities and 36 injuries. The following accidents will be reviewed as a part of this Board meeting: Sweetwater, Florida, March 25, 1998; Lenoir City, Tennessee, March 26, 1998; East Dublin, Georgia, December 8, 1998 and Bennettsville, South Carolina, February 16, 1999.
