NTSB ASSISTING BRAZILIAN GOVERNMENT IN CORPORATE JET CRASH
The National Transportation Safety Board has dispatched an investigator to assist the government of Brazil in its investigation of Sunday's crash of a Learjet Model 35 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The accident occurred at 4:10 PM local time, shortly after
takeoff from Campo de Marte Airport, when the airplane
crashed into homes. The two persons aboard sustained fatal
injuries; there are also reports of numerous ground
fatalities.
NTSB Chairman Mark V. Rosenker has designated investigator
Tim Monville as the U.S. Accredited Representative. He is
accompanied by representatives from the Federal Aviation
Administration, Honeywell Engines, and Learjet.
The Brazilian government will release all information on the progress of the investigation.
