NTSB CONSIDERS FINAL REPORT ON CRASH OF AIR MIDWEST FLIGHT 5481 IN CHARLOTTE, NC


The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a public Board meeting on Thursday, February 26, 2004 at 9:30 a.m., in its Board Room and Conference Center, 429 L'Enfant Plaza, S.W., Washington, D.C. A final report on a fatal plane crash in Charlotte, North Carolina will be discussed.

On January 8, 2003, Air Midwest flight 5481, a Raytheon (Beechcraft) 1900D, crashed shortly after takeoff from runway 18R at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, Charlotte, NC. The 2 flight crewmembers and 19 passengers aboard the airplane were killed. One person on the ground received minor injuries and impact forces and postcrash fire destroyed the airplane.
