NTSB TO OPEN DOCKET OF MARCH 29 AIRPLANE CRASH IN ASPEN, COLORADO
Washington, D.C. -- As part of its ongoing investigation into the March 29,
2001 accident in Aspen, Colorado involving a chartered Gulfstream III, the National
Transportation Safety Board will open a public docket on Thursday, October 11,
2001 and make available factual information concerning the investigation. As
a result of the accident, all 18 persons aboard the aircraft were killed.
The information released is factual in nature and does not provide any analysis.
Available in the docket, at this time, will be factual reports from the structures/maintenance,
human performance, aircraft performance and powerplants groups. The docket will
also include the Cockpit Voice Recorder transcript, Air Traffic Control transcript,
Sardy Field curfew documentation, and Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) documents.
The docket information, which is being distributed on CD-ROM, is designed to
be viewed on a Windows95 system. If you have a different system, you may view
each page as a separate image file, using any program that supports TIF graphic
files.
The docket will be made available in the Boards Office of Public Affairs,
6th floor, 490 LEnfant Plaza, SW, Washington, DC, Thursday, October 11,
2001, 11 a.m. No CD-ROMs will be mailed out before the release date.
