NTSB To Hold Public Meeting September 18



Washington DC - The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a public meeting Tuesday, September 18 at 9:30 a.m. at its Board Room and Conference Center, 426 L'Enfant Plaza, S.W., Washington, D.C.  There are two items on the agenda:
 
Railroad Accident Report -- On September 26, 1999 an Amtrak train collided with an automobile near the town of McLean, Illinois.  The automobile driver and passenger were killed in the accident. NTSB staff will present to the Board their draft final report on the investigation.

Marine Accident Report - Fire on board the U.S. passenger ferry Columbia, in the Chatham Strait, southwest of Juneau, Alaska on June 6, 2000. The ferry, carrying 435 passengers, was evacuated and towed to port. No injuries resulted from the fire, but the Columbia sustained damage estimated at $2 million.
