JUNE 2002 COLLISION OF MOTORCOACH AND TRUCK IN LORRAINE, TEXAS WILL BE THE SUBJECT OF NTSB BOARD MEETING



Washington, D.C. -- The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a public board meeting on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. in its Board Room and Conference Center, 429 L’Enfant Plaza, S.W., Washington, DC There is one item on the agenda:

On June 9, 2002 near Lorraine, Texas, a Greyhound motorcoach occupied by a driver and 37 passengers struck the rear of a truck tractor-semitrailer as the truck was entering Interstate 20 from a picnic area. Three people were killed in the accident. Safety issues to be discussed include the operational safety of and management oversight for new entrant motor carriers.

Directions to the Board Room: Front Door located on Lower 10th Street, directly below L’Enfant Plaza. From Metro, exit L’Enfant Plaza station at 9th and D streets escalator, walk through shopping mall, at CVS store take escalator down one level. Board Room will be to your left.
