NTSB INTEREST IN I-95 TANKER TRUCK FIRE
The NTSB is in contact with local investigating officials regarding the tanker truck fire earlier today on I-95 near Washington, DC. The Safety Board will be seeking, as the investigation proceeds, information regarding the origin and progression of the tanker truck fire that may be useful in the NTSB's ongoing investigation of the bus fire last September near Wilmer, Texas, that killed 23 hurricane evacuees. In that accident, a fire began in the rear tandem axel and rapidly engulfed the bus.
