Description:

Located in northeast Washington on the Pend Oreille (pronounced Pond-O- Ray). Campground facilities include an interpretive trail and a boat launch. A wide variety of trees is found in the campground, including ponderosa pine, white pine, douglas fir, hemlock, tamarack, western red cedar, and grand fir. There is also a day use area, including a picnic shelter at this facility.

Alerts and Important Information

Fire restrictions in place 8/2/07. No wood or charcoal fires allowed. Only propane and liquid canister stoves allowed. This campground has first-come, first-served sites. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. CAUTIOIN: Bears frequent the area. All food must be kept in approved containers. An extra vehicle fee will be collected at the campground beginning with the 2nd vehicle. No ATV's or ORV's allowed.

From downtown Newport, travel east on US Hwy 2 for 0.75 mile. Immediately after crossing the Pend Oreille River bridge, turn left on LeClerc Road and travel 2 miles north to the campground.
