The Black HIV/AIDS Conference Series
June 12, 2009
31 Heath Street
Jamaica Plain, MA 02130
Abstract: In 2009 the Multicultural AIDS Coalition will host a series of four conferences aimed at reinvigorating efforts to end the HIV/AIDS in Massachusetts’ Black communities. The Black HIV/AIDS Conference Series will be launched on February 6, 2009 in commemoration of National Black HIV Testing Day. It will be held at Marriott’s Boston Copley Place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The first conference will highlight the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the Black community. Subsequent conferences will highlight Black women and girls – March 9, 2009, Black immigrants – May 29, 2009, and Black gay and bisexual men – June 12, 2009. We are looking to enlist your volunteers at one or all four of our conferences. We also have openings for volunteering on projects in preparation for the conferences. The work of our volunteers will be a key factor in the success of our conference series. The volunteer duties will include, but are not limited to creating conference packets, registration, greeters, etc. This is a great chance to meet some of the leading experts in the field of HIV/AIDS.
