  • ABLEDATA - This site is an excellent resource for exploring and evaluating the range of assistive technologies. Their database of product information contains over 18,000 entries from 2,000 companies.

  • Adaptive Environments Center, Inc. - A non-profit organization, AE was founded in 1978 to address the environmental issues that confront people with disabilities and elderly people.

  • Alliance for Technology Access - ATAC is an assistive technology organization that provides assistance, training, and consultation.

  • American Council of the Blind - ACB is a national organization advocating on behalf of persons who are blind or have low vision.

  • American Foundation for the Blind - "The mission of the American Foundation for the Blind is to enable people who are blind or visually impaired to achieve equality of access and opportunity that will ensure freedom of choice in their lives."

  • Center for Applied Special Technology - CAST expands opportunities for individuals with disabilities through the development of and innovative uses of technology. Hosts the "Bobby" website, which serves as an online evaluation program that assess a website and provides tips for ensuring that your website is accessible to people with disabilities.

  • Disability Direct - The federal government continues to work towards breaking down the barriers to equality.

  • Disability Resources, Inc - Disability Resources, Inc. is a national nonprofit organization that provides information about resources for independent living.

  • Interagenct Committee on Disability Research - ICDR Summit on Interference with Hearing Technologies by Digital Wireless Telephones

  • National Association of the Deaf - NAD is a national consumer organization representing people who are deaf and hard of hearing.

  • National Federation of the Blind - NFB is a national organization advocating on behalf of persons who are blind or have low vision.

  • National Organization on Disability - The National Organization on Disability, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2002, promotes the full and equal participation and contribution of America’s 54 million men, women and children with disabilities in all aspects of life.

  • The National Council on Disability (NCD report entitled Design for Inclusion: Creating a New Marketplace is now available. The report seeks to educate designers and manufacturers about the way electronic and information technology (E&IT) intersects with the needs of individuals with disabilities, and how designing with access in mind can significantly increase the size of targeted markets for E&IT.
