Host Hotel

A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved for the meeting at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. Please make your room reservation directly with the Gaylord National by calling the phone number above.

Please identify yourself with the 2009 Office of Minority Health National Leadership Summit, in order to obtain the group rate below:
  • Single Occupancy Room: $209 per night
  • Applicable taxes will be added to room rates (currently 6% sales tax and 10% occupancy tax), as well as a daily $15 resort fee.
  • Group rates will apply three days prior to, and three days following, the meeting dates. Each additional person (over 12 years of age) to a room is an additional $20.00.
All room reservations at the Gaylord National must be made NO LATER THAN Thursday, February 5, 2009, 2/05/2009. At that time the block of rooms will be closed and the discounted rate cannot be guaranteed.

*Please make your reservations early as space may be filled quickly.
  • Check-in is 3:00 p.m.; check-out is 11:00 am.
  • A credit card is required to guarantee the reservation. A deposit equal to one night's stay is required by the hotel. If you are in need of special accommodations, please notify the hotel when you are booking your room.
  • Deposits are fully refundable at the hotel if a room reservation is canceled 3 days prior to arrival, and a cancellation number is obtained. Please confirm this policy with the hotel upon making your reservations.

Gaylord National offers several parking options for the convenience of their guests:
  • $12.00 for 0-3 hours self parking
  • $19.00 per day self parking/overnight*
  • $17.00 for 0-3 hours valet parking
  • $28.00 per day valet parking/overnight*

Transportation

SuperShuttle

From Reagan National (DCA) to Gaylord National
$22 per passenger/$78 exclusive
Super Shuttle will run every 30 minutes from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from DCA to Gaylord National.

From Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Gaylord National
$43 per passenger/$125 exclusive

From Baltimore/Washington Airport (BWI) to Gaylord National
$43 per passenger/$125 exclusive

Upon arrival at airport, follow signs for Ground Transportation to SuperShuttle

Driving Directions

From Reagan National Airport (DCA)-approximately 8 miles, 15 minutes
  • Follow signs to George Washington Parkway South (to Alexandria)
  • Take George Washington Parkway South toward Alexandria
  • Veer Right at the sign to Slaters Lane. Take a Right at the traffic light onto Slaters Lane
  • Follow signs to US Route 1 South and merge onto US Route 1 South (N. Henry Street). Proceed on Henry Street through Old Town Alexandria
  • Follows signs to I-95 North (Maryland)
  • Veer Right at signs toward I-95
  • Veer Left toward I-95 (Baltimore/Maryland signs) and merge onto I-95 North /I-495 East (Capital Beltway - Outer Loop)
  • Cross Woodrow Wilson Bridge toward Maryland
  • Take Exit 2A toward National Harbor
  • Once on National Harbor property, turn right on St. George Street
  • Follow signs to Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center
From Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)-approximately 35 miles, 45 minutes
  • Follow Airport Exit signs
  • Take VA-267 East toward Washington and follow signs to I-495 South toward Richmond/Alexandria
  • Take I-495 South (Capital Beltway - Outer Loop) toward Richmond/Alexandria
  • Continue on Capital Beltway, but merge with I-495 East/ I-95 North toward Baltimore
  • Cross the Woodrow Wilson Bridge toward Maryland
  • Take Exit 2A toward National Harbor
  • Once on National Harbor property, turn right on St. George Street
  • Follow signs to Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center
From Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI)-approximately 42 miles, 45 minutes
  • Follow Airport Exit signs toward Washington DC
  • Take exit 2B for MD 295-South / Baltimore Washington Parkway toward Washington
  • Merge onto 295-South toward Washington
  • Stay on 295-South for about 35 miles
  • Take Exit 1B (the very last exit on 295-South) toward National Harbor
  • Once on National Harbor property, turn right on St. George Street
  • Follow signs to Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center
From Washington, D.C.-approximately 10 miles, 20 minutes
  • Take I-295 South for approximately 5.5 miles
  • Take Exit 1B (the very last exit on 295-South) toward National Harbor
  • Once on National Harbor property, turn right on St. George Street
  • Follow signs to Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center
From Washington Union Station-approximately 10 miles, 20 minutes
  • Go west on Massachusetts Avenue NE
  • Go around Columbus Circle NE
  • Turn left on Louisiana Avenue NE
  • Make slight right onto D Street NW
  • Make slight left onto I-395 South
  • Take I-295 South exit (located on left)
  • Take I-295 South for approximately 5.5 miles
  • Take Exit 1B (the very last exit on 295-South) toward National Harbor
  • Once on National Harbor property, turn right on St. George Street
  • Follow signs to Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center
From Fairfax, Virginia-approximately 20 miles, 30 minutes
  • Take I-66 East
  • Merge onto Capital Beltway/I-495 South toward Richmond/Alexandria
  • Continue on Capital Beltway, and merge with I-495 East/ I-95 North toward Baltimore
  • Cross the Woodrow Wilson Bridge into Maryland
  • Take Exit 2A toward National Harbor
  • Once on National Harbor property, turn right on St. George Street
  • Follow signs to Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center
From Gaithersburg, Maryland-approximately 40 miles, 50 minutes
  • Take I-270 South toward Washington
  • Merge onto I-495 South (Capital Beltway - Outer Loop) toward Richmond/Alexandria
  • Take Exit 2A toward National Harbor
  • Once on National Harbor property, turn right on St. George Street
