Water Safety Notice!

Please ensure that your loved ones are wearing the right size life jacket when they are boating or playing on or near the water.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers wants you to have a pleasant recreational experience. Many people drown on the nation's waterways each year and, in most cases, victims were not wearing a life jacket, the one tool that could have helped them survive when they entered the water. Please ensure that your loved ones are wearing the right size life jacket when they are boating or playing on or near the water. The Chief of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers needs your help as we try to reduce the number of public fatalities on our nation's waterways. Only YOU can help us do that!

AIRPORT BEACH SHELTER (TX), WACO LAKE, TX

Description:

This shelter will open 05/03/08.

Airport Beach Group Shelter is a day use facility that can be reserved year round. The rental fee is $150.00 per day between the hours of 6:00am to 10:00pm. The Shelters accommodates up to 110 guests. The Facility includes a Barbecue Grill, and is located within a close proximity to bathrooms. Parking is only allowed in designated areas All Rules and Regulations Governing Public Use of Corps of Engineers Water Resources Development Projects apply.

Liability Waiver:
A liability waiver must be signed upon arriving at park gatehouse. Park Attendants will provide a copy of waiver and assist with any questions you may have. The waiver can also be found at the Waco Lake Website. Remember to think safety first.

This shelter will open 05/03/2008

  • Park closes between the months of October 1st - April 1st, however under normal circumstances the boat ramp and group shelter remain open.
  • Parking is only allowed in designated areas
  • The facility includes a parking lot that provides parking for up to 47 vehicles.
  • A $4.00 facility fee will be collected at the gate house for every vehicle past 47.
  • Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.
  • Shelter can only be reserved up to 360 days in advance.

Airport Beach Park is located on the North Shore of the lake ¼ mile west of the dam. From I-35 take the Lake Shore Drive exit, head West to Steinbeck Bend Road; take a right and head to Airport Road. At the stop sign take a right and head approximately 2 miles.
