NTSB ANNOUNCES AVIATION REGIONAL OFFICE APPOINTMENTS

Washington, DC - The National Transportation Safety Board has announced the selection of a new Deputy Director for Regional Investigations and Directors for several of its Regional Offices.

Jeffrey Guzzetti has been named Deputy Director of Regional Operations in the Office of Aviation Safety. He is charged with managing all ten NTSB aviation regional offices and all general aviation accident investigations. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Guzzetti served as Investigator-in-Charge in the Major Investigations Division for two years. Prior to that he served as an Aerospace Engineer in the Aviation Engineering Division and as a regional air safety investigator. Before his career at NTSB, Mr. Guzzetti served in aviation safety positions with the FAA, U. S. Navy and an airplane manufacturer. He has been investigating accidents for 15 years.

Georgia Snyder has been named as the Regional Director of the newly created Regional Office in Alaska (the Alaska office has until now been a field office of the Board’s Regional Office in Seattle). Ms. Snyder served previously as the Director of the South Central Regional Office in Arlington, Texas. She joined the NTSB as a general aviation engineer in 1995, and was also a regional air safety investigator. During her career with the Board, she has been investigator-in-charge of more than 240 accidents.

David Bowling has been named Regional Director of the newly created Regional Office in Denver (the Denver Office has until now been a field office of the Board’s Regional Office in Texas). Mr. Bowling has been serving as the Chief of the field office for the last year in Denver. Prior to his tenure in Denver, Mr. Bowling served as an air safety investigator in the NTSB’s North Central Regional Office of Aviation in Chicago, Illinois. He has investigated over 350 aircraft accidents.

Before his career at NTSB, Mr. Bowling served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force as a B-52 mission-ready pilot, flight instructor, combat planner, and operations officer. His military assignments included a combat tour during Desert Storm.

Paul Cox has been named as the Regional Director of the Board’s newly created Mid-Atlantic Regional office located in NTSB’s headquarters in Washington, DC (this office has until now been a field office of the Board’s Regional Office in Parsippany, New Jersey). Mr. Cox is currently an air safety investigator with the Board’s Northeast Region, Parsippany, New Jersey. He has participated in regional, major and foreign aviation accident investigators and served as investigator-in-charge of over 200 accidents in the last 5 years. Before his career at NTSB, Mr. Cox served in the U. S. Navy for 22 years as a naval aviator in both fixed and rotary wing aircraft.
