NTSB LAUNCHES TEAM TO INVESTIGATE AMTRAK TRAIN DERAILMENT IN SOUTH CAROLINA


Washington, DC -- The National Transportation Safety Board has launched a team to investigate the derailment of Amtrak train PO-97 in Coosawhatchie, South Carolina.  The train derailed this morning after striking a tractor-trailer that was on the tracks.

A team of highway and railroad investigators will conduct the on-site phase of the investigation.
