NTSB PRESS AVAILABILITY AT NASA LANGLEY


WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a press availability at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia on Friday, May 3. The event will feature a press conference by NTSB Chairman Marion Blakey and Dr. Mark Shuart of NASA Langley, and a photo opportunity in the research bay where the tail assembly from American Airlines flight 587 is being examined.

The press conference will begin at 10:30 a.m., during which Chairman Blakey will summarize the composite research being done at Langley and elsewhere. Following the press conference, the news media will be admitted in shifts to the examination bay for photography. No interviews will be conducted in the examination bay.

Because of security and logistical concerns, all media wishing to attend the event must register with Bill Uher of NASA Langley.
