FIELD OFFICES: HIGHWAY

Requests for information must be made to the appropriate staff at the headquarters in Washington, DC, not the field offices. The headquarters office determines whether or not an accident will be investigated, and may assign staff from any field office, irrespective of geography. If there is to be an investigation, one of three go-teams comprised of members from different field offices is launched to the scene. Each go-team may travel throughout the United States.
