South Bend, IN—On Saturday, March 29, the IRS will be hosting “Super Saturday,” a nationwide event meant to help people file their tax returns. In specific, “Super Saturday” will focus on assisting those who typically do not file tax returns. A tax return must be filed in order for an individual to receive a tax rebate as part of the economic stimulus package. IRS officials and tax counselors will be available at 320 locations nationwide, including one in South Bend.
“This is an incredibly useful service for people who don’t normally file tax returns,” said Congressman Joe Donnelly. “I encourage all my constituents to take advantage of it, so they can receive their rebate checks as soon as possible. I commend the AARP, United Way of America, and the dozens of other groups who are collaborating to make this service available.”
Area residents can visit a local “Super Saturday” site for help with their tax returns this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 100 E Wayne St., South Bend, Indiana 46601. They should have a photo ID available.
