Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Joe Donnelly unveiled an Online Tax Resource Center to provide Second District taxpayers with tools and information to make easier the filing of their tax returns. An individual must file an income tax return if she wishes to receive a rebate check as part of the economic stimulus package.
“Hoosiers pay too much in taxes. The economic stimulus package, which was recently signed into law, is meant to provide economic relief to taxpayers. In order to receive a rebate check, a tax return must be filed,” Donnelly said. “I created the Online Tax Resource Center to help my constituents file their tax returns so they can receive their rebate checks as soon as possible.”
Along with a section that explains the economic stimulus package and how much taxpayers can expect to receive, the Online Tax Resource Center provides links to tax return forms and numbers to contact to receive help.
“I encourage all of my constituents to visit the Online Tax Resource Center and contact my office with any additional questions. We’re here to help you receive the highest possible rebate you are owed,” Donnelly stressed.
The Online Tax Resource Center can be accessed at www.donnelly.house.gov.
