Bio-identical hormones allow me to continue an excellent and healthy life as I age. I've had a full hysterectomy (no ovaries to produce hormones) and rely on this hormone replacement. If not taken, I'm depressed, have extensive hot flashes, cannot concentrate, and other debilitating symptoms. I started taking these hormones because 1) they are a more natural replacement of hormones and 2) I've severe reactions to drugs such as Premarin. There are thousands of women like me who need these drugs. We should have the choice to select, with the guidance of physicians, the hormone replacement that is best suited for our condition. If there are risks, labels, like any other drug contains in the prescription documents, are an adult's free choice to take. Premarin (made from horse urine I think) certainly has associated risks, and that remains on the market. Don't let them drive competition out of the market.
