GENERAL
As a woman and as a psychotherapist, I am extremely concerned about the possibility of severe restrictions on the compounding and distribution of bio-identical hormones. I tried for many years to get my hormonal needs met through traditional prescriptions. I feel strongly that these prescriptions are made and marketed largely with the sales desires of the pharmacy, not the needs of the consumer in mind. Prescription of bio- identical hormones has not only met my hormonal needs much more effectively, but also in a way that is much safer, because and can take lower doses and safer mixes of hormones. I know that bio-identical hormones have also been of benefit to my patients that struggle with hormonal and post-menopausal issues.
