I have been taking bio-identical hormones for 2 years. It has been a tremendous comfort to me as it alleviates hot flashes, insomnia, and depression. I consult with my physician, who prescribes bio-identical hormones specifically for me, and my pharmacist prepares them. Without this medication, I would continue to have hot flashes at all times of the day and night, and this leads to sleeplessness and not being able to function at work the following day. I would be a different person if I could not take the bio-identical hormones. I was that miserable person before I started taking these hormones. I was taking the synthetic hormones Premarin and Progestin that Wyeth Pharmaceuticals produces (from urine of pregnant horses, which is another story altogether), and they are not a good medication. I felt terrible the entire time I took them and when I started bio-identical hormones, my life finally became good again. Why would a pharmaceutical company want to take something off the market that helps millions of people other than for financial benefit? That's just wrong. Please don't take away my bio-identical hormones. They are a life-saver for me. Thank you.
