Bio-identical hormone replacement is a key factor in maintaining our quality of life. Studies by the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) demonstrated that Wyeth's fake hormones (Premarin and Prempro) cause significant increases in breast cancer, blood clots, heart attack, and stroke. Why would you force anyone to take a synthetic drug that has been proven to cause health problems? The FDA was created to maintain the safety of people not to cater to the big pharmacy concept of make money at any cost. Ask yourself this simple question - "Would you prefer to a) take a fake drug that has been proven to increase your chances of a heart attack or stroke or b) to take a drug that matches your bio-chemistry?"
Compounding pharmacies that create custom medications for specific patients is the absolute best level of care anyone could ask for. The FDA should continue to support the States in their regulation and monitoring of these agencies, but by no means should they ever try to stop their work.
The fact that the bio-identical hormones are becoming more popular should more than speak for themselves. If someting works, the "market place" embraces it and discards the old "outdated" or wrong business model.
Do not sacrifice people's well being for the almighty dollar, making money is not the FDA's mandate.
Thank-you
