Comment on LEED for Neighborhood Development

The first national certification system for green neighborhood design and development, LEED for Neighborhood Development, is now open for public comment. The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) opened the public comment period on November 17, 2008, and will close it on January 5, 2009. The rating system, which integrates principles of smart growth, new urbanism, and green building, has been in pilot testing since early 2007, with nearly 240 pilot projects in the U.S. and around the world.
