New Report Provides Roadmap for Energy Policy and Strategies in the New Administration

A new report from The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) provides detailed recommendations to the Obama administration and the new Congress on addressing the nation's dependence on foreign energy sources and its greenhouse gas emissions while still growing the economy.

The recommendations, intended to help shape energy policy, include requiring annual measurements of building energy use, with funding and guidance for gathering and analyzing the data. The report also suggests increasing research and development efforts in the built environment and for net-zero-energy building technologies, as well as increased government support for private-sector R&D.

For more information about the report, see the ASHRAE news release.
