 I am shocked that protection of a pharmaceutical company's profits could possibly be allowed to impact so many women in an adverse way. Bioidentical hormones are safe and effective.  To subject women to a significant risk of cancer, strokes, etc. to protect the profitability of a line of synthetic drugs that has been dangerous and knowingly misrepresented to the public for decades is obscene.  The fact of the matter is that the pharmaceutical companies have enjoyed windfall profits by pushing these unsafe drugs on the market.  The benefits of estrogenic compounds in the prevention of osteoporosis have been skewed to protect profits for many, many years.   It has been known for quite some time that progesterone is the hormone that activates osteoblast cells (responsible for making new bone), and yet these pharmaceutical companies continued to push their dangerous synthetic compounds on the market using fear tactics.  There is no level of synthetic hormone use that can be considered as safe as the use of natural (bioidentical)hormones.  The pharmaceutical companies should not be protected at the cost of human lives.



I strongly urge that Americans and their elected leaders stop giving away our rights at such an alarming rate.   Freedom to choose a safe and effective form of health care must ALWAYS come before the protection of corporate profits.  I have numerous patients that have been taking natural hormones for years.   Their health and happiness is intact.   Do not allow greed and weakness to prevail.  Protect the rights and health of the woman and men of America.
