GENERAL
Please do not allow Wyeth Pharmaceutical Company to control the market on hormone replacement therapy by asking the FDA to prohibit compounding pharmacies from providing bio-identical hormones to their patients. Premarin family products have been proven to cause significant health risks to some women.

In my case, not taking synthetic hormones has caused me to have problems with elevated cholesterol, triglycerides, and liver enzymes, and to have a non-alcoholic fatty liver. I am now controlling these problems with bio-identical hormone therapy which I would like to continue. Bioidentical hormones are as close to what nature intended as one can get and, therefore, have many fewer risks to the patients taking them.

Before starting bio-identical hormone therapy, I was being treated with Lipitor which was controlling my elevated cholesterol. But Lipitor has many side effects and risks because it is not a naturally occuring chemical in the body.

Please do not let Wyeth take away my right to choose what kind of hormones I take. If too many women have stopped using their Premarin Family of products, maybe there is a reason that they should look into and make some changes.

Sincerly,
Elizabeth Blair
