U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and
US Treasury convened a task force of tribal governments,
lenders, and federal agencies to develop the One Stop
Mortgage Center Initiative Report. The report identifies
barriers and recommends solutions to make the mortgage
process more user friendly for homeownership opportunity
in Indian Country.

How can the One Stop Mortgage
Center help me?
The One Stop Mortgage Center is the first comprehensive web site
designed to provide homeownership and mortgage lending information
to tribal members in Indian Country, lenders, Federal employees,
tribal leaders, and tribally designated housing entities.
The center was established to address the challenges of changing
land status issues, diversity of tribal laws and governments, lack
of mortgage information, homebuyer skills, homebuyer education,
and capital-all contribute to the challenges of mortgage lending
for most Native Americans.
