This is a compendium of Federal Memoranda, Policies, Executive Orders, Guidance, and Statutes addressing or related to the protection of Native American sacred places and cultural properties. This list was prepared to help Federal Agencies identify tools to protect Native American sacred places and cultural properties, and identify opportunities for agencies to coordinate their efforts. The following list of documents was prepared through an Internet search that was conducted on the various Federal Agencies Internet Web sites.

It is likely that this list does not contain all of the Federal documents relevant to the protection of sacred places and cultural properties. This compendium was prepared by the American Indian and Alaskan Native Task Force of the Interagency Working Group on Environmental Justice in preparation for an interagency informational meeting on Native American sacred places and cultural properties, held on August 14, 2002 in Washington, DC.
