Executive Board

Congressman Mike Honda, Chair

Representative Honda has represented California’s 15th District since 2001. His district is home to Silicon Valley and includes the cities of Cupertino, Milpitas, Santa Clara, Campbell, Los Gatos, parts of San Jose, and Gilroy. Representative Honda is the Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee and also serves as a House Democratic Senior Whip. Congressman Honda is a member of the Committee on Appropriations, with postings on that body's Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, Commerce, Justice, and Science, and Legislative Branch Subcommittees.

Congressman Eni Faleomavaega, Vice Chair

Representative Faleomavaega has represented American Samoa since 1989. Congressman Faleomavaega is a member of the Committee of Foreign Affairs and serves as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, and the Global Environment and is also a member of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere. He also sits on the Committee on Natural Resources and its Subcommittees on Insular Affairs, and Fisheries, Wildlife and Oceans and Energy and Mineral Resources.

Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo, Secretary

Representative Bordallo has represented Guam since 2003. Congresswoman Bordallo is a member of the Committee on Natural Resources, and serves as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife and Oceans. She also is a member of the Subcommittee on Insular Affairs. Congresswoman Bordallo also serves Committee on Armed Services, and is a member of the Subcommittee on Readiness and the Subcommittee on Seapower and Expeditionary Forces. Congresswoman Bordallo is also the Chair of CAPAC’s Healthcare Task Force.

Senator Daniel Akaka

Senator Akaka has represented Hawaii since 1977, serving first in the House of Representatives and then in the Senate when he was appointed to fill Senator Spark Matsunaga’s seat in 1990. Senator Akaka is the Chairman of the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, the Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness and Management, the Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittee on National Parks Historic Preservation and Recreation, and the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Subcommittee on Federal Government Management, the Federal Workforce and the District of Columbia. Senator Akaka also serves on the Committees on Indian Affairs and Banking and chairs the Congressional Task Force on Native Hawaiian Issues. 

Senator Daniel Inouye

Senator Inouye has represented Hawaii since 1959, serving as the first elected Congressman from the state and was elected to the Senate in 1962. Senator Inouye is a member of the Committee on Appropriations, serving as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Defense, with additional postings on the Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development, Homeland Security, Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies, Military Construction and Veterans’ Affairs, State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs. He is also the Chair of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. Senator Inouye is a member of the Committee on Indian Affairs and the Committee on Rules and Administration.

Congressman Neil Abercrombie

Representative Abercrombie has represented Hawaii's 1st Congressional District, comprised of Honolulu and Leeward suburbs, for three months in 1986, returned to Congress in 1991 and has continuously represented the District since then. As a member of the Committee on Armed Services, Congressman Abercrombie is the Chair of Subcommittee on Air and Land Forces. Additionally, Congressman Abercrombie serves as a member of the Subcommittee on Seapower and Expeditionary Forces. Congressman Abercrombie is also a member of the Committee on Natural Resources and its Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife and Oceans. He also is the Chair of CAPAC’s Immigration Task Force.

Congressman Xavier Becerra

Representative Becerra (CA-31) has represented California’s 31st Congressional District in Los Angeles since 1992. He is Assistant to the Speaker. Congressman Becerra serves on the Committee on Ways and Means and its Subcommittees on Health, Oversight, and Social Security. He is also a member of the Committee on Budget.

Congressman Al Green

Representative Green has represented Texas’ 9th Congressional District, which spans the southwest metropolitan portion of the city of Houston and contains areas Missouri City, since 2007. Congressman Green is a member of the Committee on Financial Services and its Subcommittees on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit and Housing and Community Opportunity. He is also a member of the Committee on Homeland Security with posts to its Subcommittee on Border, Maritime, and Global Counterterrorism and Subcommittee on Emerging Threats, Cybersecurity, Science and Technology. Additionally, Congressman Green is the Chair of CAPAC’s Housing Task Force.

Congresswoman Mazie Hirono

Representative Hirono has represented Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District, comprised of north and west sections of the island of O‘ahu, and the islands of Hawai‘i, Kaua‘i, Lana‘i, Maui, Molokai, Kaho‘olawe, and the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, since 2007. Congresswoman Hirono is a member of the Committee on Education and Labor, its Subcommittees on Early, Elementary & Secondary Education and Higher Education and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and its Subcommittees on Aviation, Highways & Transit and Water Resources & Environment. She is also on the Committee on Small Business.

Congresswoman Doris Matsui

Representative Matsui Representative Matsui has represented California’s 5th Congressional District, which spans Sacramento and its surrounding areas, since 2007. She is a member of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and sits on its Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment. Congresswoman Matsui also serves on the Committee on Rules.

Congressman Robert “Bobby” Scott

Representative Scott has represented Virginia’s 3rd Congressional District, comprised of Richmond and parts of Norfolk, Hampton and Newport News, since 1993. Congressman Scott serves on the Committee on the Judiciary, where he is the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security. He also serves on the Committee on Education and Labor, with posts to its Subcommittees on Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary Education and Higher Education, Lifelong Learning, and Competitiveness. He also serves on the Committee on the Budget. Additionally, he is the Chair of the CAPAC’s Civil Rights Task Force.

Congressman David Wu

Representative Wu has represented Oregon’s 1st District, spanning Portland to the Oregon Coast, encompassing all of Washington, Yamhill, Columbia, and Clatsop counties, and part of Multnomah County, since 1997. Congressman Wu serves on the Committee on Education and Labor, with postings to its Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions and Subcommittee on Higher Education, Lifelong Learning, and Competitiveness. He also serves on the Committee on Science and Technology and chairs its Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation. He is also a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs. Congressman Wu is the Chair of CAPAC’s Education Task Force.
