SUBJECT: PROPOSED FINAL RULEMAKING TO AMEND 10 CFR PART 55 AND ASSOCIATED REGULATORY GUIDE 1.149, REVISION 3 During the 482nd meeting of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards, May 10-11, 2001, the Committee considered the proposed final rulemaking to amend 10 CFR Part 55, "Operators' Licenses," regarding operator license eligibility and the use of simulation facilities in operator licensing; and proposed final Revision 3 of Regulatory Guide 1.149, "Nuclear Power Plant Simulation Facilities for Use in Operator Training and License Examinations," and decided not to review these documents. The Committee has no objection to issuing the proposed final rule and associated Regulatory Guide 1.149, Revision 3. Reference: Memorandum dated May 2, 2001, from Bruce A. Boger, Nuclear Reactor Regulation, to John T. Larkins, Executive Director, ACRS, Subject: Final Rulemaking to Amend 10 CFR Part 55, "Operators' Licenses," Regarding Operator License Eligibility and the Use of Simulation Facilities in Operator Licensing; and Final Revision 3 of Regulatory Guide 1.149, "Nuclear Power Plant Simulation Facilities for Use in Operator Training and License Examinations."
