Mi-Wok Ranger District

Day Use Sites

Campfire permits are not required within developed day use sites; however, campfires are limited to the grills provided. Campfire permits are required if you plan to build a campfire or use a camp stove outside a recreational vehicle away from a developed campground. Permits are free and may be obtained at the Mi-Wok Ranger District.

  • Riverside Picnic Ground: Three miles east of Tuolumne City on Buchanan Mine Road. Drinking water, fishing, picnic facilities and restrooms. No overnight camping. Elevation 2500 feet.
  • North Fork Picnic Ground: Three miles east of Long Barn on Road 3N01. Fishing and picnic facilities along the North Fork Tuolumne River. Elevation 4400 feet. No overnight camping.
